Agliptin (English: Alogliptin), marketed as nisina, is an oral anti-diabetes drug with dipeptide-peptidase-4 (dp-4) inhibitor developed in 2005 by takeda pharmaceutical co., LTD. Like other drugs for type 2 diabetes, aglectin does not increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. Like other statins, agrostatin causes little weight gain and a relatively low risk of hypoglycemia, with moderate hypoglycemic activity. The drug, which is used in conjunction with metformin, is used in patients who cannot use metformin alone to control blood sugar.
